Treatments and Services Offered
- Chiropractic -
Chiropractic is a health care discipline,
which emphasizes the amazing self-healing powers of the body to
repair itself without the use of drugs or
invasive surgery. Chiropractic engages
your own healing abilities to stabilize joints and return function
to your back, neck, wrists, knees,
ankles, arms and legs. It keeps
your nervous system, which controls your whole body including organs,
from being over or under stimulated. In effect it keeps your
body from wearing prematurely and
keeps you functioning at an optimal level and feeling great.
- Physiotherapy -
Physiotherapy consists of soothing
modalities designed to decrease
muscle spasms and/or soreness.
Examples include electric stimulation
or ultrasound, which do very specific
things to help heal areas of discomfort.
- Flexion/Distraction Table -
This specific chiropractic technique
utilizes a special table where
the spine is tractioned and flexed
forward. This method primarily
treats cervical and lumbar disc
hermiations, leg and arm pain,
and increases mobility of spinal joints with a gentle motion.
The
purpose of this technique
is to reverse the force of gravity
on the discs. This technique
has the power to reverse a herniated
disc condition of the lower back
or neck in many cases, and thereby
prevent back or neck surgeries.
- Therapeutic Massage -
A healing touch that applies pressure on the muscles of the body. Benefits
include; improved blood and lymph circulation, decreased muscle spasms and pain, increased range
of motion in the joints and much more.
- Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation -
Physical therapy and rehabilitation
includes exercises for specific
parts of the body such as the legs,
arms, hands, back, neck, shoulders,
elbows, knees, etc. The goal is
to strengthen, regain range of
motion, relearn movement and/or rehabilitate
the muskuloskeletal system to improve
function .
- Nutritional Counseling -
Counseling on a wide variety of issues
ranging from proper levels of vitamins, minerals and other
nutrients for disease prevention and/or treatment, infections
and restoring the body to optimal health.
- Acupuncture -
Acupuncture originated in China over five thousand years ago.
It is based on the belief that health is determined by a balanced
flow of qi (also referred to as chi), the vital life energy present
in all living organisms. By stimulating certain points on the body
acupuncture helps correct and re balance the flow of energy and consequently relieve pain and/or restore health
- Orthotics -
The use of custom fitted arch supports or heel lifts to be worn in shoes
to correct structural problems with the hips, knees, ankles and feet.
- Scoliosis Screening -
Scoliosis is a sideways curving of the spine that often begins during childhood.
Early detection in children will allow for straightening of the spine as
the child grows. Unfortunately the most common treatment approach has been to
wait and see how bad it gets leading to unsightly braces or eventually surgery.
Our approach is to use specific spinal adjustments combined with corrective
exercises. We have had excellent results with scoliosis cases in childhood
, when the bones of the spine are still growing.
